The charter, explained.

The vocabulary, the figures, everyone's role. All that we explain to you before signing, set down in black and white, with nothing left in the shade.

The charter explained

At the listing, everyone starts from the same figure. With us, it drops on all three parts of your budget, the boat is negotiated, the on-board advance is watched and returned, the tax is optimised. The same week, the same boat, for less.

The scenario

A week's charter on the Amalfi Coast, in Italy. All amounts are illustrative; the 22% VAT is the rate that applies in Italian waters.

Why this share comes back to you

1

Every expense is visible, live, in your app.

You see where every euro of your advance goes, receipts to back it up. When you can see, you choose better.

2

An itinerary designed to avoid overspending.

Stopovers and port fees are calibrated before departure, rather than endured along the way.

3

Provisions verified with the captain.

Menus and preferences validated before boarding: we buy for your real needs, not "just in case".

The MYBA contract

The industry's standard contract, drafted by the Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association. It protects both parties: deposits held in escrow, cancellation terms set out, clear responsibilities. We go through it with you, clause by clause.

The roles, clearly

The broker holds the thread: brief, sourcing, negotiation, contract, follow-up. The captain remains sole master on board, safety and the final route belong to them, and rightly so. The central agent represents the boat; we represent you.

The market gives you a number. We give you the reading, and we defend every line.

Illustrative example, every charter is unique.

Frank questions

People ask us. All the better.

What exactly is the APA? +

The Advance Provisioning Allowance is your on-board provision, roughly 25 to 35% of the base price. It pays for what gets consumed: fuel, ports and anchorages, provisions, extras.

At Ariane, you track it live in the app, receipts to back it up. At the end of the week, the captain accounts for it; the unspent balance comes back to you.

The MYBA contract, what is it? +

The framework contract for chartering in the Mediterranean, established by the Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association. Deposits in escrow, cancellation terms, each party's responsibilities: it's all set out. We read it with you before signing, clause by clause if you wish.

And insurance? +

The vessel and its crew are insured by the owner, that's included in the base price. We explain what this cover includes, and what falls to a travel or cancellation policy on your side. Before signing, you know who covers what.

What happens if I have to cancel? +

The MYBA contract sets out clear cancellation terms, known before signing; they depend notably on the date. We put them in black and white from the very first proposal, and cancellation insurance can complete the arrangement.

The crew gratuity? +

It remains at your discretion, at the end of the week, according to your experience on board. Customs exist in the trade; we simply share them with you, before boarding, so that moment is as clear as everything else.
